These life-size shorebirds are hand carved in English oak. They have brass legs and beaks and have been carved as though they are foraging for food. The base they stand on is carved from a beautiful piece of English cherry and has been shaped with hand tools to represent the rippled surface of a sandy beach. The birds themselves are free standing and can be positioned any which way and the whole piece has been finished with natural oils and a beeswax polish which brings out the natural beauty of the wood. This hand crafted artwork could make a stunning centrepiece to a modern display and would certainly become a talking point.
